Arshdeep Singh Moves Closer to Virat Kohli in ICC Trophy Tally

The Indian pacer, Arshdeep Singh, has achieved something in his career which many experienced players have thrived for. Aged 27, Arshdeep has won his fourth ICC trophy, levelling with Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj Singh, and more. The only player which stands above him is Virat Kohli.

The young pacer of the Indian team, Arshdeep Singh, doesn't mind breaking records. Ever since his debut back in 2022, he has come out to be India's star pacer in the T20 format. With his impressive swinging deliveries, India has been able to do well in this format over the last few years.

This is also the reason why India won the T20 World Cup 2026 while hosting it, and are now the three time champions. Moreover, the recent edition of the T20 World Cup was in his career. He now stands just behind King Kohli in terms of ICC trophies, as he could level him by winning just one more.

Under-19 World Cup 2018

Arshdeep Singh was a part of the Indian team which won the Under-19 World Cup in 2018. He didn't get much opportunities to play for the team in that edition, but he was able to dominate with the ball in the two games he played. His average remained just 6.66, and he took wickets at a strike rate of just 20.

T20 World Cup 2024

For his next ICC title, Arshdeep Singh had to wait for 6 years. But the wait came to an end in the T20 World Cup 2024, which was hosted by the USA & West Indies. With India winning the tournament, Arshdeep Singh finished as the team's leading wicket-taker, with 17 wickets in 8 innings.

In the final match against South Africa, where the target was set at 177, he went economical. Bowling 4 overs, Arshdeep Singh was able to take 2 wickets and conceded just 20 runs. The 19th over which he bowled in the chase further went on to put the pressure on the Proteas.

For his next ICC title, Arshdeep Singh had to wait for 6 years.

Along with that, he also gave a notable performance against Australia. In the match which decided Aussies qualification, he took 3 wickets for 37 runs, which included the wickets of David Warner, Matthew Wade, and Tim David. He bowled his best spell against the USA, where he conceded just 9 runs in 4 overs and took 4 wickets.

Champions Trophy 2025

Arshdeep Singh was also a part of the Indian team in its Champions Trophy 2025 win. He was in the squad as a backup pacer, with the experienced Mohammed Shami taking the front charge of the bowling line-up. Throughout the tournament, Arshdeep Singh didn't get an opportunity to play a match for the Indian team.

Still, he was a part of the team which won the Champions Trophy 2025 by defeating New Zealand in the finals. This was Arshdeep's second ICC title in the 50 over format. Although he didn't get a chance to play any game, his bowling skills in the ODI format have also been proficient for the Indian team.

T20 World Cup 2026

Then came the tournament where Arshdeep Singh won his third consecutive ICC title and fourth title overall. The T20 World Cup 2026 was hosted by India, with Sri Lanka as the co-hosts of the tournament. The Indian team had a dominant start to the tournament, winning all of its games in the Group stages.

But later in the Super Eight, India started off with a massive loss against South Africa. In the match against Zimbabwe, Arshdeep took 3 wickets while he went wicketless against the West Indies.

Later in the semi-final against England, the match went till the very end. But the final overs bowled by Arshdeep Singh came out to be helpful as he also took the wicket of Will Jacks. In the ultimate clash against New Zealand, Arshdeep was unable to take a wicket, but India went on to win the T20 World Cup for the third time.
