Lamine Yamal reached another milestone for FC Barcelona after scoring in the 1-0 win over Athletic Club in La Liga. The 18-year-old now has 19 goals this season from 36 matches with 14 assists. He also reached 50 professional goals before turning 19, beating Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who achieved the mark after 20 and 21 years.
For the young Barcelona star Lamine Yamal, the 2025-26 season has become a remarkable milestone in his rapidly growing career. The Spanish winger continued his impressive run by scoring the winning goal in Barcelonaâs 1-0 victory over Athletic Club in La Liga. With that strike, Yamal reached 19 goals this season for the Catalan side, surpassing his previous best tally of 18 goals from last season. The goal also helped the teenager achieve a historic milestone. Yamal has now scored 50 professional goals before turning 19.
Out of these, 44 goals have come for Barcelona and 6 for the Spanish national team. This achievement places him ahead of football legends Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who both reached the 50-goal mark at older ages. Messi crossed that mark after turning 20, while Ronaldo achieved it at 21. Yamal has needed only 36 matches this season to score 19 goals, a major improvement compared to last season, when he played 55 games. Along with his goals, he has also provided 14 assists, showing his strong influence in attack.
He is currently Barcelonaâs leading scorer in all competitions. Ferran Torres follows with 16 goals, while Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski have 14 each, FermĂn LĂłpez has 11, and Marcus Rashford has scored 10. In La Liga alone, Yamal has already scored 29 goals before turning 19, surpassing RaĂșl GonzĂĄlezâs previous record of 28 goals at that age.
