After the dramatic Copa del Rey semi-final exit, FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick praised his players for their spirit and bravery despite losing 4-3 on aggregate against Atlético Madrid. Barcelona came agonizingly close to a comeback with a 3-0 victory at Spotify Camp Nou in the second leg, falling just one goal short of forcing extra time.
Marc Bernal scored twice while Raphinha converted a penalty as Barça created several clear chances and could have scored four or five goals on the night. Flick admitted his disappointment at missing out on the final in Seville but said the team could be proud of its effort and attitude. The German coach highlighted the contribution of young La Masia players such as Pau Cubarsí, Gerard Martín and Marc Bernal, calling them incredibly talented and praising their courage on such a big stage.
