Since last night, Jacob Bethell has been in the headlines everywhere. In the game where every English batsmen failed to register runs, . While India won the game and sealed its spot in the finals, Bethell won hearts of millions of fans worldwide.
He brought up his first T20I century in yesterday's game, and it came at the time when England needed it the most. Still there's one thing unusual for Bethell, as he got his name to the rare list of tons in all three formats. Despite having tons in all formats of the game, Jacob Bethell has not registered even a single century in any domestic format.
ODI Ton vs South Africa
Jacob Bethell brought up his maiden ODI century in the series against South Africa. Since the series was being played at home, it was the right time for Bethell to show his worth to the team as a batsman. He already did well in the first two ODIs, as the last game was set to be played at Southampton. England were batting first in this game, as the team received a solid start from Jamie Smith and Ben Duckett.
After both openers lost their wickets, England stood at 117/2, when Bethell stepped in. And he went berserk against the Proteas bowling line-up. He went on to score 110 runs off 82 balls with 13 fours and 3 sixes, to help England reach the score of 299 in 40.2 overs. This was Bethell’s first century in the ODI format, which he registered on 7 September 2025.

With his knock, along with Root’s ton, England were able to score 414 runs in 50 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Eventually, the bowlers did a great job to restrict South Africa from even scoring runs in triple digits. South Africa was bowled out for 72 runs only, giving a mammoth victory to England.
Test Ton vs Australia
Jacob Bethell was a part of England's squad for The Ashes 2025/26. But he didn't get a chance to play for the team in the initial games. He played in the 4th Test at Melbourne, and even played a vital 40-run knock in the chase to help England win the game. Following this, he also played the last Test of the series at Sydney.
In the first innings, England managed to put up a massive total of 384 runs, where Bethell was able to score just 10 runs. But with Australia taking a massive lead, Bethell decided to conquer England in their second innings. While no batter was able to cross the 50-run mark, Bethell went on to score 154 runs in 265 balls.

His knock was perfect in the longest format of the game, as he scored just 15 fours in his 154. England posted 342 runs in the second innings, as Australia received the target of 160 runs to chase. The team was able to do the same with 5 wickets remaining, ending the series also with an impressive victory.
T20I Ton vs India
when it was needed the most. And it came in the T20 World Cup semi-final match against India. Both teams went against each other at Wankhede Stadium for a spot in the finals, as India were sent to bat first. The Indian batters had their take well, as they managed to score 253 runs in 20 overs.
The score was huge, as England's batting line-up also had a troubling start. Phil Salt (5), Jos Buttler (25), Harry Brook (7), and Tom Banton (17), were dismissed for cheap scores. But it was Jacob Bethell who stayed for the team till the very end and even received support from Will Jacks.
Eventually, Bethell was able to finish his knock by scoring 105 runs off 48 balls with 8 fours and 7 sixes to help . With his run out in the last over, the match slipped away from England's hands. Eventually, Bethell's first ton in the T20I format also came in a losing cause.
