During the match between Afghanistan and India on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi, Hardik Pandya collided with Mohammad Shahzad after he was dropped at mid-off by Najibullah Zadran. The all-rounder smashed an unbeaten 35 off 13 balls, and stitched up a crucial 62-run stand with Rishabh Pant at the end.

Naveen-ul-Haq bowled a back of a length ball, and Hardik Pandya top-edged the ball high in the air, but  Najibullah Zadran dropped the catch and gave him a lifeline. Pandya, who charged for a second run after receiving another chance in the game, collided with wicketkeeper Mohammad Shahzad, and fell on the ground. However, the collision was not a serious one, and the match resumed after a short break.

Earlier in the innings, after being asked to bat first again, India openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul partnered for a 140-run opening stand against Afghanistan on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi. Rohit (74) brought up his 23rd T20I fifty off 37 balls just before Rahul (69) hit his 13th half-century from 35 balls. Later, Hardik Pandya (35*) and Rishabh Pant (27*) stitched up a 63-run stand and powered India to 210/2.
