While MS Dhoni’s quicksilver stumping has been a part of the lore, it has been some days one has seen a brilliant catch from the Indian wicket-keeper that would take the breath away. Today, Dhoni made a full stretch drive to his right to get hold of a stunning catch to dismiss Carlos Brathwaite.

After playing a slow innings, which fired up the Twitter world and left the opinions divided, Dhoni gave his detractors a lot to munch on after failing to collect Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav’s deliveries. While one thought it was an off day for the former Indian skipper, he redeemed himself and how!

On the first delivery of the 27th over, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a back of a length delivery which angled into Brathwaite. With the memories of his knock still being fresh in the mind, one would have backed the Caribbean to play the shot with effortless ease, but the ball straightened a bit in the last moment and caught the batsman off guard.

As a result, the Barbadian closed the face of the bat while trying to glance the ball on to the leg-side but instead, he ended up outside edge to it. The ball flew to the right of MS Dhoni, who initiated his movement with the angle and was wrongfooted at the last moment, and he adjusted himself nicely in the last moment to take a one-handed stunner. May not be a classic MS Dhoni, but well, the improv is bound to set the social media on fire for sure.
