The BCCI appears headed for a potential suspension from the ICC after the Lodha Committee submitted its report to the Supreme Court to dismiss all the members of the BCCI. The ICC rules call for suspension of bodies that allow even the slightest of government intervention in the board's matters.

After the BCCI showed complete negligence towards implementing the R.M Lodha committee recommendations, the Supreme Court-appointed committee warned the BCCI to be ready to suffer the suspension of all the office bearers. However, another problem from the ICC has kept the BCCI worried.

As per the Article 2.9 of the ICC’s rulebook, the World body doesn’t allow even the slightest of government interventions in the board's matter. If the RM Lodha recommendation of dismissing all the office bearers is to be implemented then, the rule might come to the force, resulting in the suspension of the richest cricketing body of the world by the ICC.

The BCCI would surely want to take a call on this matter today when the Special General Meeting happens at their headquarters in Mumbai. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is likely to give its judgment on the ongoing case on 6th October.
