Indian opener Rohit Sharma underwent a precautionary X-Ray on Sunday after suffering a blow on his left toe in the game against Pakistan yesterday. Reports claim that the batsman might have injured his toe after the first ball of the innings from Mohammad Amir hit him during the match on Saturday.

According to a report on the website of Indian Express, the Mumbai batsman was taken for a precautionary X-Ray after suffering soreness on his toe. Although rumours on the social media suggested that Rohit Sharma is not able to walk properly after the injury, the report on confirmed that the injury is not as serious and the batsman is likely to take the field on Tuesday against Sri Lanka.

The injury to Rohit makes him the fourth Indian cricketer to have suffered an injury during the Asia Cup. Pacer Mohammad Shami was ruled out before the tournament after not recovering from his hamstring injury, while skipper MS Dhoni suffered a back spasm in training before the game against Bangladesh. Rohit’s opening partner Shikhar Dhawan also missed out the match against Pakistan yesterday after suffering from a niggle.

India is on top of the table in the Asia Cup after registering victories over Bangladesh and Pakistan in their two matches. The Men in Blue are slated to take on Sri Lanka in their third match of the tournament on March 1.
